Principal's Message

A Community of Learners!

At Briargreen, we foster an environment where students are encouraged to collaborate,  become digitally fluent, and celebrate creativity and innovation. Staff and students are committed to supporting the community both locally and globally through outreach events and fundraising initiatives including, but not limited to: the Terry Fox Foundation, Education Foundation, Ottawa Food Bank, and United Way.  As well, the Briargreen staff, students and families collaborate to create a positive environment of mutual respect, cooperation and inquiry learning.

Effective communication between the home and school is essential to developing a partnership which supports students.  The school fosters a disciplined climate where students learn the responsibilities of global citizenship, leadership. and how to best use their own individual interests, skills and talents to further develop resiliency as lifelong learners.

Briargreen P.S. is a newly renovated school that serves the educational needs of 260 students from JK- 6. We draw from Briargreen, Centrepointe, Qualicum and Cedar Hill areas and operate under the jurisdiction of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Students are in enrolled in the Regular English program that provides a variety of skill building activities which take into account the learning needs, abilities and aspirations of each child. There is additional support for students learning to speak English. Students with special learning needs can access special education programs and services.
